Frequently Asked Questions
What does Hashi Research do?
Hashi Research connects nonprofits, researchers, and policymakers with private-sector companies that hold relevant data, insights, or technical context. We handle discovery, vetting, coordination, and relationship management so both sides can collaborate efficiently and responsibly.
Do you conduct or publish research yourselves?
No. Hashi Research does not conduct research, analyze data, or influence conclusions. We act solely as a facilitator — ensuring the right insights reach the right organizations under clear, ethical, and transparent terms.
Why wouldn't my nonprofit just contact companies directly?
Most nonprofits don’t have the bandwidth to:
- Identify which companies hold specific, relevant datasets
- Vet data/insight quality, credibility, and alignment
- Manage outreach, coordination, and ongoing communication
We remove that friction so nonprofits can stay focused on their mission.
What’s in it for private-sector companies?
Participation allows companies to:
- Contribute to credible, public-interest work without advocacy risk
- Provide context around their data instead of being interpreted in isolation
- Support research that informs policymakers, media, and the public
- Align with outcomes customers and regulators increasingly expect
All without relinquishing control or ownership of their data.
Do companies have to share sensitive or proprietary data?
No. Data sharing is voluntary, scoped, and mutually agreed upon. We aim for all collaborations to involve aggregated, anonymized, or contextual data rather than raw datasets.
If you don't have the data and/or the ability to deliver it in a usable fashion, we will decline working with your business.
How do you ensure neutrality and trust?
Hashi Research does not represent outcomes, positions, or conclusions. We:
- Remain independent from research findings
- Do not edit or influence published work
- Operate transparently with clear boundaries for all parties
Credibility depends on neutrality — and we protect it.
Who owns the data that’s shared? (if applicable)
We aim for collaborations where data is aggregated from the beginning. If your private company finds it appropriate to share anything, you always retain ownership of internal data/insights. Hashi Research facilitates / project manages these collaborations and does not store, resell, or repurpose shared data.
What types of organizations do we work with?
- Mission-driven nonprofits
- Research institutions
- Policy organizations
- Private-sector companies with relevant operational, technical, or market data
Is this advocacy or lobbying?
No. Hashi Research does not engage in lobbying or advocacy. We enable information flow — not persuasion.
How do engagements typically work?
- Define the nonprofit’s data/insight need
- Identify and vet relevant private-sector partners
- Facilitate introductions and alignment
- Support coordination throughout research/delivery process
Hashi Research stays involved to ensure clarity and momentum.
